Here is a video of the Claude Botti and Mick AArons show yesterday at Winton. Apologies for the sound quality, but at least I had the camera pointing in the right direction!!

I fixed the sound!

Great footage and driving guys, very entertaining to watch.
Cheers
Mile
And finally, I was fortunate enough to be able to record both the video and data of my fastest lap yesterday without messing either of them up....

Good fun - 1.37.9 Jim. At 11.30 in the morning. Did you go home after the next run? I can't see any more of your times that's all.
Alister
Hi Jim
Did you say you had some video with me chasing you? Would love to see some if you can.
Thanks
Marcus
I was just about to get organised to put my car on the market, until I watched these videos. Now I'm not so sure. :-\
I am sorry Marcus, I stuffed that part of the video up, and after I came off the track at the top of the straight and you whizzed by, i wasn't able to catch up enough to get a decent pic..
but... I did get some great video of Alister's 911 !! Almost running into it in the process...Alister, my tires had pretty much had it before the start of the event, and I could not stop the car from sliding into the corners, as the grip level was getting worse and worse, so by 11:30 the tires were mostly like this....(see pic) and the front suspension was having an 'issue' (see pic.. so it was clearly time to go home..

jim you did not take the little cam with you, a few guys went to PI on the week end with some cameras, so ill put a link up when they are on you-tube, they have said they worked well
John
The value of the fun you will have outweighs the value of your 75 many folds.
So just prepare it for the track and have loads of fun like the rest of us.
Neil

Thanks Jim - appreciate you taking and posting that footage. Nice shot of the bush trying to break loose - and yes, I'd be inclined to call it a day with tyres doing that! Good day though, nice weather and some good track time.
I'd come up in the morning via Kinglake and Yea, leaving at 5.30am. No traffic to speak of and a really nice run; I hadn't done that run for many years and it was just as I remembered it. So I headed back that way as well. Still a nice drive but plenty of traffic in the middle afternoon so not so much fun but definitely more pleasant than the Hume.
Quotel would have loved to have our last run on video with Tristan and myself. You can tell a lot about a cars set up from a good video clip.
Paul Edwards
Paul,
I was in front / behind Tristan Atkins for a few laps . Here's the clip

Clip following Brendan Beavis from the MX5 club. WE always end up with about the same times. In this one i finally get past Brendan when he has to pull over to the side of the road to let his tyres " catch their breath" again

I hope the scrutineers don't watch the forum Gully, they'll be checking that interior mirror of yours next time...
Also, why aren't your videos available in 720p, that camera can shoot in 720 can't it?
QuoteI hope the scrutineers don't watch the forum Gully, they'll be checking that interior mirror of yours next time...
Sheldon, i leave it loose so it forces me to keep checking it (and whats coming up behind). Also keeps you awake going up the back straight at Sandown.
Your right about the videos i think i forget to push that HD button when up loading. Might have another go if i have time.
Cheers

Here is another contribution. Nothing too exciting, but just chasing the Botti guys in Alfa 75 with Alfetta GT 1.8.
Apologies for the shaky vision and poor sound, first Youtube posting and first time setting up camera.

Neil
Good stuff Neil. Good camera location in the car.
Gully
Neil - do you know who was driving the Botti 75?
Alister
No, not sure.
Neil
No kidding, Sherlock!!!!!!!!
Neil, the Kodak Zi6 certainly takes great video - it will be awesome when you get the thing mounted properly! And can fix the sound of course - but good for your first Youtube effort!

Shit Jim, time for that M3 engine, or you could buy an Alfa for the same money ;D :P
Sorry to hear that Jimmy. You're a good driver, hope to see you out again soon. Pretty funny video though :D
In good news, I found an engine for you... http://cgi.ebay.com.au/BMW-E34-M5-S38-Complete-Engine-Gearbox-/270251969000?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories
Failing that, stick your Falcon engine in the BMW!!
I agree. Mildly funny at the time; hilarious on video.
My second run of the day, nice and quick.

Mic, got to follow you for a lap and then...cutting grass!
Very fast Jim. How does the ABS handle the balding tyres? Seemed, it locked up a front at one stage?
Congratulations Gully, Is that your first MX-5?
Bit shakey Neil, I like how you can see the gauges though.
Oh Noooo Jimmy, that must mean its time to buy an Alfa, I've got a cheap Sprint, only driven 'Sundays'.
Had a great day, cant wait for the next one.
As allways Frank very entertaining thank you for sharing
Mick....you are a mega gumby.
A little something else for the 'shame file'

This is an incredibly epic fail.
Word
Hey there all,
Back on topic.
Check this in car video out by our MX5 mate, Randy, I particularly like the moment at 0:27sec of the black Alfasud, I think it is Sue but let it be Ray. It is more fun that way.
Enjoy.
Neil
He's going the WRONG WAY - its gotta be Ray!! Its really the best video I have seen of the day yet (though the music is a bit iffy..) Neil.. Can we get a proper HD version posted instead!! I want to see the look on Rays face when he is trying to go around the cows tits backwards...
Wrong way??? Depends, Jim, in that direction it is being driven by the correct wheels!!!!
Anyway, I do agree it was Ray, plus Sue killed Ray in times, as usual.
Neil
Neil sorry to disapoint but it was Susan first lap of practice. I told her drinking before she went out was never going to be a good idea. guess I was right
QuoteI told her drinking before she went out was never going to be a good idea
Boom Boom
A glass or two of chardie will do that to you.

Of course it was Sue, it was the fast group :D you were in the slower group passing me ;D
Ray, you really have to go and wine and dine Sue, take her dancing and show her some of your moves to the following:
Though, I think Ray was in the slow group being passed by Brad, that is more to the truth.
Thanks so much for in car videos, it's great to have on track evidence.
Neil
Why are you people so unkind
Mick, thanks for posting the awesome Vid, that worked out grouse! Sorry about the smoke though, I didn't know the old sprint was that bad. That was heaps of fun.
Nice video from the MX-5 Neil, heaps of action and I like the Metallica, rock on! My camera was not recording for this run and I wasn't happy because is was action packed, cars everywhere, perfect practice for the 6 Hr.
Susan woke me up by spinning, I was looking for the inside line passed the pulsar, not on!!
A glass or two of chardie is what you should be drinking Ray. I can help you with that...
Frank it was only a matter of time before you jumped on board the good ship" hang shit on Ray"
Here is another video, Alfetta GT chasing Alfa Brerer then Alfa 75, nothing really exciting (what do you expect from 60 bhp!!!) but just the sight of a Brera.
Always exciting passing a Brera, good stuff Neil, or should I say Damon.
By the way Ray, which ship are you talking about? I know you like to cruise...but I got on the fast one.
