The Phillip Island Classic Festival of Motorsport is one of the largest and most respected historic motorsport events on the international calendar. It was recently short-listed in Octane Magazine's inaugural 2011 International Historic Motoring Awards, coming in just behind the Goodwood Revival in the prestigious 'Motorsport Event of the Year' category. This year's event will feature.

The Race Meeting

An expected 35 thundering Formula 5000 V8-engined racers from the 1970s, including leading cars from New Zealand, the USA, Canada and the UK, will be joined by several former Formula 1 cars from the 1980s in highlight events at the meeting, each of which will feature a rolling start. Another highlight will be the large field of former Group C (1973-1984) and Group A (1985-1992) touring cars assembled for the meeting – with seven-time Bathurst winner Jim Richards and four-times Australian champion John Bowe amongst the drivers on the planned 22-car grid. As usual there will be a large turnout of Alfas running in Groups, S, N, C, and A form both AROCA Vic and interstate.

The Shannon's Walk  9th - 11th March 2012

AROCA has again been invited to attend Phillip Island Historics and we will be holding a Club Display as part of the annual "Shannon's Walk". This is a 2 day event and we have 20 car spots allocated for our club on both Saturday and Sunday (10th and 11th March). In addition, the club will be displaying a car of historical significance in the Expo Centre.  We look forward to the usual participant attending and anticipate a good turnout of range of the popular 105 Series cars in their 50th anniversary year.

Note that it is essential for participants to arrive early as club and vehicle positioning is "first in best dressed". However this year we will be setting up on the Friday afternoon and will be assisting club members with parking allocation - so please arrive as soon as you can (say by 9.00 am).
More information to follow, bookings essential. For more information or to reserve a spot, please contact: Paul O'Connor Display Coordinator (for PI) 0417 800 918
