Evan, I'm servicing my brakes for the 6hr, so while I had them off, I quickly fitted the vented set up to show where they rub. The top front edge of the caliper hits the inside of the rim. First photo, taken between the spokes of the rim. Second photo shows the vented brake setup and where the rim rubs the caliper. Third photo shows the 13 x 6 rim I use, fitted with a 205/60/13 ao48.

Yes, the others are correct that if you fit a 10mm spacer, the vented rotor caliper will not hit the inside of the 13x6 rim.

The last photo shows the solid rotor 33 brakes I use on the track car, The calipers are not ATE which I said in a previous post, they are actually Bendix calipers.

Thanks Frank,

Looks like it wouldn't be a problem with a wide wheel and a spacer.  I think 13" is the way to go.  With slicks :P

Not a huge variety of 13" R-type rubber though.  Not a lot better than in 14".

Toyo R888
205/60R13 - 572 rev/km
225/45R13 - 619 rev/km

Kumho V700
205/60R13

205/60-13 is not much better than the 195/60-14 in terms of gearing...  any other suggestions?

Hmm - that Toyo R888 225/45-13 sounds pretty good actually.  The other option in that size I think there is a Hankook tyre.
