Sprinters, Racers, Alfa Lovers,

Saturday, February 12 marks the first event in the 2011 Alfa Comp calendar, round one of the Ipswich Street Sprints.

The venue is Queensland Raceway, Champions Way, Willowbank. Sprint check in is 11am, drivers' briefing is 12 noon and we'll be on track from 12.30pm. Entry form link below.

Please note the venue operators are pushing hard to have entries forms in well ahead of time. Price of entry is $145 if forms are in by 9am Monday, Feb 7, otherwise an additional $100 cost applies!

AROCA Qld has secured group parking for sprinters in the first six parking bays, which we will share, two cars per bay. Please clearly mark the top of your entry form with ALFA GROUP. If you are a first timer, please go up to the first person you see in an Alfa and introduce yourself. Plenty of senior club members and experienced members of the racing fraternity will be on hand to give you tips on tyre pressures and racing lines and to help with any other questions you may have throughout the afternoon. If you have any questions beforehand, please contact competition secretary Ken Percival - see the AROCA Qld website committee listing for KP's details.

Even if you are not sprinting on this occasion, please come along and help create the atmosphere.

See you at the track,

Brent

A great day's sprinting today in round one of the Alfa Comp. Nine Alfas competed and several other club members, friends and family came along to lend support.

I'll chase up Ken Percival tomorrow for a final rundown on the fastest lap times of the day, as I had to leave early.

Pics will be posted tomorrow on the AROCA Qld photo gallery.

Cheers,

Brent
