Does anyone know or have the experience to say what would be the best material to re-apply the 75 exterior moulding, some of them stick on with clips or screw on but the front panels moulding and the front of the rear moulding need to be applied with something strong, when i say moulding i mean the plastic strps/stripes on the 75 that go all the way around from the front on one side to the other, i purchased a double sided tape but it comes away after 2 or 3 days, anyone know what the factory used or what would be the best material these days?  ??? :o

Hi Veesix,

When i reapplied my side skirts to the 156 i used double sided tape and sikaflex 252 not 227 as many people on other internet forums suggest. Here is the website http://www.sika.com.au/cmi/auto_products_adh.htm. The only problem is that the price of sikaflkex from bunnings is about $28 so expensive if you only use it once and never again. But it was worth it for the great way it applied and has remained.

The procedure i used to to stick my side skirts back on was as follows (i am sure you could some of it to your 75);
1) i cleaned the surface really well
2) ran two strips of thin 3m double sided tape, about 20mm apart from each other (one above and one below)
3) i used a heat gun to heat the sill a little since it was a cold morning and i have heard that double sided tape works best when its heat activated. Maybe good to have a second person do this while you prep the mould.
4) Finally i placed the sikaflex in an up down motion (looks like hills and valleys) and stuck it on the car.

It worked a treat, with no excess going on the bodywork.
