Red Devil GTV6

Hi all,

Driving my GTV6 today and this is what happened through the gears

1st Gear - All good
2nd Gear - ok till 2000rpm then just revs past 4000rpm
3rd gear - same as second
4th gear - same again
5th gear all ok.

I guess i have a slipping clutch or my clutch master cylinder is gone!!
I have plenty of clutch oil but I do have a bit of oil coming down the clutch pedal and dripping onto the floor. I guess thats coming from the cylinder.

Any suggestions?

Cheers
Luke

i would think it might be the slave.

it happend to my giulietta wasnt going into gear good crunching etc. also was loosing presh if i was holding it on for so long.

try pulling the slave out and open it up and give it a good clean. when i cleaned mine it has all this clack rubber crap init.

Luke,

there is a simple trick i've been shown to see if the clutch is slipping:
drive along in 5th at about 60kph. depress clutch and bring revs up to about 5 -6,000. then side step off the clutch and you'll be sure to know if its slipping or not. may take a few tries to get it right.

i've also had a problem with the slave cylinder before. so that's also worth a check.

hope this is of some help.

scott.

here s a easy test out the car in first pull hand brake on and foot on brake pedal depress the clutch if clutch is slipping you should get to about 3/4 before car wants to stall then you need a clutch if it wants to stall at 1/4 it means that the clutch is fine you need to stationary when trying this.
