Great article, made me want to go out and fire up the 105. But it started raining, so I will have to save it for next weekends EMR.

With big brother getting out of control in a lot of European countries I have noted with interest the revival of track days. The article noted the cost of the day at Goodwood at 212.50 euro's , that over $400.00 bucks for the day with some nanny rules on passing.

Just makes you realize what great value AROCA Vic sprints are. Goodwood might be good but i really doubt it could be twice as much fun as Philip Island

Gees does it really cost @ $200 for an AROCA sprint day.  Down here in Tassie we charge 1/2 of that for either a sprint day or hillclimb.  Makes your costs sound expensive.   BTW Goodwood is a superb track.  I went there back in '02 to the Historics meeting, an amazing event.  Dave

Yes but I imagine Phillip Island is slightly more expensive to rent for a day than your oval down there   We try and keep the costs as low as possible, and often make a loss on sprints.

$200 is pretty cheap for one of the best tracks in the world I reckon.

Hey Sheldon, now mate that depends on whether you are referring to Baskerville or Symmons Plains  .  Each is quite different from my experience.  I agree though that Philip Island is a special place and if I were over there would love to have a session on the track.  Far better than Wakefield Park or some of the other tracks over your way.  BTW I also know what you mean about making a loss from sprints, we generally also do.   Hence, more effort is put into the hillclimb events we run.  We make a profit on those  !!

Gary, I definitely have this one in mind and would love to be over for some Alfa 100 year celebrations.  I suspect the Giulia is way off from being finished in time.  So may have to dust off the poor old GTV for some fun or at least come over in the 156 wagon to spectate the action on the track.  I previously discussed this with Barry E.  Dave

I'd rather have 1 day at Philip Island than 2 days at Symons Plains

Paul a better combination would be one day at phillip island and two days at symons plains. and no work to come back to.
