Greetings brain trusts ... we have a 2010 159 2.4 JTD ti ... brilliant car to drive ... particularly after a remap 😀.
We have a rather critical issue develop - NO WIPERS !

Wipers would not turn off and so stopped the car and turn the ignition off ... presto they stopped.

Now they wont work.

Wiper motor is fine

Pull the fuse and put it back in and you hear what I assume is the click of a relay and the wiper works but you need to turn the ignition off or pull the fuse to stop it working.

Washers work

Appreciate your thoughts and suggestions (I hope)

Hi Rigi,

With my 159 Ti, every time after locking the car then later re-starting, the wipers required "re-initiating".
You can re-initiate the wipers via a momentary movement of the wiper control to intermittent.  Seem to recall reading this in the owners manual.

If the wipers seem to often stay on longer than required or keep wiping, problem likely with the rain sensor adjacent the rear vision mirror.
I used to clean the windscreen area in front of the sensor regularly with RAINEX.  Apparently diesel fumes (not from your car but vehicles in front) and water produce a film on the windscreen fooling the sensor into believing its still raining.  The film refracts the IR light stooging the detector into believing the screen is still wet.  The RAINEX cleans off this film and prevents its reforming.  Worth a try.
