Has anyone seen this product for sale in Australia?
http://www.rust.co.uk/products/category/28125/fe-123-rust-converter/#

It seems to be a converter that doesn't require subsequent neutralisation or flushing and therefore looks to be the best candidate for treating hidden, difficult to access rust and surfaces on older vehicles.  Spray it in, let it work, then follow with a cavity wax.

Or, is there a similar product available in Oz?

I assume shipping a liqiud/dangerous good from the UK would be problematic?

Hi Paul,

I working in a Car service company which specialising in Rust Proofing and Window Tinting but we never try to used that product and I never seen that product before. I recommend to try "Maxwell Chemicals XL 695 Cavity Anti-corrosive Synthetic Waxes" It's very effective for Car Rust Proofing.
For more details about the product try to visit Vitacare Rust Proofing

Wow - reviving very old thread! Before I noticed Pauls question was from early 2013 I googled and found this:

http://www.rustbuster.com.au/pd_fe-123.html

not sure how it compares to the local product
http://www.xtrollglobal.com.au/products/rust/rust-conqueror-uv/

in terms of applications or efficacy (I've used xtroll and it seems to be effective ymmv, I know nothing about this fe-123 stuff.

Yes, an old thread.  The post was moved from the defunct "off-topic' folder.

Nevertheless, it all adds to the knowledge base so thanks for the responses.

Andre, I looked up Vitacare and their products are what I deem to be in the 'protective' group.  i.e.  effective for protection of new vehicles.  They use cavity wax, Penetrol etc.  I've used both types of product ( and have a couple of Penetrol products in the shed).  They certainly have their place but neither is a corrosion converter

Darryl, the Xtroll is effectively in the same camp as the Penetrol.   Penetrates?  Yes!   Encapsulates corrosion? Yes!  Converts existing corrosion... no...

The FE-123 seems to be a different product entirely to the other rust protective products, and even the Aust website describes using FE-123, then over-coating with a preventative wax.

I still have no idea if a converter such as FE-123 will slow the advancement of existing rust any better than Penetrol, fishoil etc.  If you can effectively exclude moisture and oxygen from the site using a penetrating product it may be just as effective.

Jumping into this thread with a similar query here. I bought my 159 Ti secondhand last year. Windows are not very dark at all - they actually look like normal glass to me. Assuming there was some sort of UV protection or anti-glare as stock standard, but that's about it?

In any case, looking to get it tinted in the next few weeks. I understand Tint-a-Car is close to me in Essendon, with a range of products including so-called Octane in deep charcoal black (35% VLT + 60% heat rejection) and Spectre ceramic film technology (35% VLT, SPF 50+ & 91% infrared heat rejection).

Were your Giuila's mentioned above tinted with that ceramic based stuff? Or another type of film?

Any problems, I'd be taking it right back to where it came from. But, what are your thoughts?
The only problem with the GTV6? They forgot to install the flux capacitor...

As the day goes

After having a chip found in one of the films on my 159, had Northside window tinting redo all 5 windows in my car.  My insistence was it had to be road legal and all the same colour.  Ended up being pretty dark overall overall, but not off course "privacy" screen dark.  I am good with the overall result.  sorry dont recall the colour/film name.
