Hi there. Watching the guys on mighty car mods I had the idea of converting the Alfa 156 to Audi R8 coils. These are also a 4 wire coil and replacement plugs are easily available to solder in.
Can anyone tell me what each of the 4 wires do and I might be able to work it out. These are only $50 ish each.

I understand replacing with a stock one might be easy but they are crap and expensive

Hi Matty
I very much doubt whether the R8 Audi coil pack is going to work even with applicable 4 pin wiring mod. It also does not have a clamping flange as per genuine Bosch unit (refer to attached link). Additionally the ECU might pick up any differences in specified resistance values and throw up a EMS fault code.

Well the R8 ones must clamp in some way as they don't even have a bolt to hold it in place

Just has me very intrigued.

Are these ECus programable at all?
