Hi All,
Has anyone figured out how to replace just the rubber inserts in the wiper housings, rather than pay what seems to me to be an exorbitant sum for the whole blade fitting? Jim

Hi Jim,

Just replace the whole thing, not worth trying to open them up and replace the rubber. Tried before on a ve commodore and the new rubber inserts didn't sit right and left streaking on the window.

Yeah all up it's around $70-$80 for both arms. Just something you gotta pay for unfortunately.

I'd keep an eye out in auto part stores catalogues as there is usually specials on wipers. Probably sometime in the near future as we are getting ready for winter and it's a common thing to replace.

Just check year and variant for your vehicle it appears the first link does not fit even though the description indicates it does.

I have Valeo on my 159 in lieu of OEM and Bosch Aerotwins.  They'd be at least 5-6 years old and in perfect condition, so expensive to buy but value in the longer term.

Have to admit I do baulk at the cost of Aerotwins given what I used to pay for slip-in rubber blades on my Valiant and Monaro.
