At long last, got hold of a coolant level sensor for the 90 (2.5 litre V6 1985) which seems to work. The float does a make and break in the up and down positions (yay!) BUT have discovered that it closes the circuit (MAKE) in the DOWN position and goes open circuit (BREAK) in the UP position. This means that my warning light actually works but the wrong way around!!!! So, when the coolant header tank is full, I get the flashing coolant level warning on the ARC panel but when the coolant level goes down, the warning light goes out!!!
Am I missing something here?
For info, when I got the car, the electrical lead to the sensor was bridged into the MAKE condition so that the warning light did not come on so i assumed that the sensor would go into the MAKE mode when the coolant level was OK.
Anyone have any suggestions?
