Hi all, any tips on replacing the in-tank fuel pump?  How do you get access, for instance?

Make sure you have less then 1/4 tank of fuel. The pickup/pump is accessed at the front of the tank from underneath (axle stands or hoist). There is a retaining ring that you undo after you have disconnected the lines. The pickup can then be manoeuvred out. The screen on the end of the pump needs a bit of manipulation so it does not come off the end. The black gasket may be too hard to reseal fuel properly. I made a new one from either material from Autopro or Clark Rubber to make a new one.

thanks Luke, will have a go.   I don't think it has been working for some time, I connected it to my new fuel pump power cable (to delete the pink/white wire) and it melted the connector and wires!    So after the smoke cleared I drove 250km  home and noticed no difference...
