======================================
OK Racers, here's what you've all been waiting for - the Veloce Racing Association 2015 Race Calendar.

New for 2015, the East Coast Challenge will grow to a three round EAST COAST CHALLENGE SERIES,with a round in each of Queensland (Morgan Park),  N.S.W. (Wakefield Park) the finale in Victoria (Winton). The Series will total your points from the Morgan Park (Queensland) meeting and your best other round -  so you only need to make at least one interstate trip, but when it comes to Morgan Park; BE THERE! The intention is to rotate the mandatory point score round amongst each state, year to year.

Three additional meetings will be held in N.S.W. to make sure that everyone gets enough racing! And if you need more encouragement, the V.R.A. Driver's Championship Series will be run over ALL SIX race meetings, with your best scores from FOUR meetings counting (this allows our Historic logged cars the option to attend their historic category meetings when they unavoidably clash with V.R.A. dates).

Our legendary V.R.A.TRACK DAY will start the year on February 9 - note that it is a MONDAY this time, due to Wakefield Park bookings. Attendance at the Track Day will be used as a tie breaker for the point score competitions, so be there!

February           9                      Track Day                                               Wakefield Park
March               7                      VRA Championship Round 1                SMSP (North)
May               2-3                   VRA Championship Round 2                Wakefield Park
June               6-7                   East Coast Challenge Round 1               Morgan Park (mandatory)
August              8-9                   East Coast Challenge Round 2                Wakefield Park
September      26-27               East Coast Challenge Round 3                Winton
November        21-22               VRA Championship Round 6                  Wakefield Park
Negotiations are under way with organisers of these meetings, and we'll keep you up to date with details throughout the year.
Other events of interest to V.R.A. members can be found in the attached 2015 Calendar. Note that many of these dates are yet to be confirmed, so check with the organisers before you make any commitments.

A reminder to racers (particularly Victorians) of the fast-approaching dates on the VRA calendar:

August              8-9                   East Coast Challenge Round 2                Wakefield Park
September      26-27               East Coast Challenge Round 3                Winton

August 8-9 is challenging for the Vics because it's a week after our Winton sprint/racing event and the same weekend as the Winton Festival of Speed.  Some folk might still make it up there.

September 26-27 we need to make a good showing at our home track at Winton.

Alfa Racers,

Who's up for this one?

September      26-27               East Coast Challenge Round 3                Winton

A large Vic team is gathering.

Put your name down here now and commit.

Evan Bottcher

I'll be there of course, wouldn't miss the opportunity to be on the starting grid with a bunch of fine competitors from NSW and Qld.  It's a top social weekend too with other Alfisti, drinks and dinners etc.

message from VRA

please remove the Winton September 26-27 meeting from your calendar,
and mark the Wakefield Park November 21-22 meeting as "To Be Confirmed"

alfa duk

Looks like there have been a few changes to our calendar due to the management changes at Winton/Wakefield tracks.
As it stands now, an event at Winton on Nov 7-8 is where we are at. No other races are scheduled.
Will confirm.

VRA Announcement:

East Coast Challenge Round 3 - Winton

CHANGE OF DATE

Good news Racers - we are now included on the program at Winton as a support category for their November endurance event.
This replaces the September 26-27 meeting previously scheduled.

please add the Winton 300 meeting, November 6-7, to your calendar

Full details of the meeting will be advised when the Entry Package becomes available, around the first week in October.
The event format will be a little different from other meetings, due to the length of Enduro sessions, but we have been promised a minimum of qualifying and three races over the Saturday and Sunday. We will be one of, at maximum, three support categories.
The event will use the long circuit, and Enduro entries will use the garages in both the old and new pit areas. We will have a reserved set of carports for our category in the old pits area.
Accommodation in the nearby towns of Benalla, Glenrowan and Wangaratta is at a premium for this weekend, so start making your plans and bookings straight away.
We will organise a dinner in Wangaratta on Saturday night, details to be advised closer to the event.

However, we have not been able to negotiate a place in the Wakefield Park ACT Championship meeting, which we had scheduled as VRA Championship Round 6, and have no alternative meeting to replace it. Round 6 is therefore cancelled, and we will review the pointscore rules to see if any change is necessary.
please remove the Wakefield Park November 21-22 meeting from your calendar
