Alfa 75 V6 oil change

Hi,

I will be changing the oil on my Alfa 75 3.0 V6. Does anyone know the size of the oil drain plug or do I need some special size/shape tool for the drain bolt plug? Any advise would be much appreciated, thanks again

Most of the old series Alfa Romeo's use a 17mm ring spanner, the newer Fiat based use allen key style drain plugs to get a lower profile, so it doesn't scrape on gutters, you could always get under and have a look as it may have changed from original, Colin.

It looks like its a size thats between 25 and 26 mm bolt.

Colin, the older Alfa's all have 27mm sump plugs. Not sure where you've got 17mm from! maybe you are thinking of the transaxle.

thanks guys, It looks like its a 26mm though. 27 mm is a bit wonky and not spot on

Whatever fits, at least you got it off, the plug is a bit worn on the hex, but originally it is 27mm or the imperial equivalent, 1-1/16in.

i did it, i used a tube socket and a breaker bar. Its the 27mm confirmed. thanks for the input guys

Buy a 27mm six sided socket and keep it in your tool box.
