Title: FS: Group S Log Booked 1977 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV
Post by: alfagtv58 on October 03, 2012, 10:47:09 AM
Group S Log Booked 1977 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV put some fuel in it, check the tyre pressures, turn the key and go racing.....competitively  ;D

No expense spared during the build (06) taken back to a shell and all rust removed with new sills etc installed, full respray inside and out....red, of course!  6 point cage with diagonal brace in main hoop and rear leg brace, double side intrusion bar drivers side, single side intrusion bar passenger side, harness bar.  Lexan side and rear windows.  4 new headlights just fitted (not Carello).  2 Cobra race seats, 1 RPM 6 point Harness and window net.  Period Momo steering wheel (Gilles Villeneuve signature) has been retrimmed (cost more than a new wheel!) and really looks the part, steering wheel extension.  Odyssey style (small) battery located in boot.
Engine good strong HP engine with high comp pistons, big valves, head work (top end freshened up 2 years ago), 48mm Webbers, lightened flywheel etc etc.  Radiator has been re-done with extra core added (non aluminium for GrpS regs).  Oil cooler.
Transaxle Twin Spark box with mixed ratios incl short 5th gear and 4.3:1 LSD (recently refreshed), ceramic button clutch.
Suspension all the usual stuff, big torsion bars, re-valved Koni Yellows, 240lb rear springs, legal camber (!), all in original pick up points per Group S regs.
Brakes Booster removed and pedal box installed with balance bar and correctly sized master cylinders, braided lines, EBC Red pads, new set of front and rear rotors (+ spare set of used rotors and front callipers).
Wheels 14 x 6 Panasports (light weight and great finish) with 50% worn Bridgestone RE11S 195/60/14, another set of wheels with shagged tyres as spares.

Start racing straight away at Historic meetings (and other meetings like Veloce Racing Assoc) locally and/or around the country.   This car has been super reliable for me as we built it properly in the beginning.  Fastest Group S Alfa in Victoria!

You can see some of the work that went into this car here http://www.alfaclubvic.org.au/forum/index.php?topic=216.0

Please, serious buyers only.  No tyre kickers.

Although I am open to very near offers, this is not a fire sale and I dont have a gambling debt or drug habit to feed so Im not going to give it away, its too special (to me anyway!).  If you know what it costs to build a turn key, reliable, quick, log booked, Historic Group S race car from scratch you will know what good value this is.
$36,000
This is far below the build & development cost.  Could be persuaded to sell tandem trailer with the car at additional cost if that sways the deal (dont contact me for trailer only please!)

Inspections welcome.  Im open to discuss a test drive at an AROCA sprint meeting too.  Im not giving away racing or Alfas for that matter...I will be back racing again in the not toooo distant future!!

BUMP.

Despite an initially convincing scam email  >:(, car is still available.  Santa didn't bring you the race car you were hoping for, so c'mon get in touch and lets talk.
