Hi folks,
I found this car for sale in Adelaide but I'm a bit curious about the QV tag: http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/adelaide-cbd/cars/alfa-romeo-164-qv/1004385034
Did such a model exist for the 164? I thought it was just a Luxury 164 with a body kit. I can't find the QV model designation on Redbook.
Any ideas?
It may be an import. The 164Q (manual) that came here was only red, white or black. Wheels are also different.
Joe, you are spot on! The seller has confirmed that it has import tags under the bonnet. In that case I will pass on it.
'Automatic'?! What the...
Prepared to be corrected here, but the QV was only ever offered as a manual .... right?
Yeah, that was exactly my thought. I suspect the car is not a 'Q', but has had the bodykit fitted.
:)
Theres a white oz delivered car on gumtree for $2500 in Nsw
164Qs were Australian delivered, manual and fitted with the 12v version of the Alfa V6.
164QVs were made during Alfa's absence in Australia and were fitted with the 24v version of the Alfa V6, they too are manual and there a few around.
Based on pictured and description in that ad, that car seems to be a regular auto 164 with a body kit and the 12v motor.
The owner has informed me that it's a private import. Probably from the UK or Hong Kong or some other right hand drive market.
at that price, why would you care that its an import? Is it harder to insure or something?
Probably less of an issue it being imported, more that it's being advertised as a QV model when it's not.
