Title: 3.2 electrics and management
Post by: Big Black on July 18, 2011, 10:15:46 PM
I have a 3.2  spider which has developed a problem. I was away 3 monthsish and left the battery disconnected.
It started first go on my return.
Now if I run it around, turn it off, go shopping whatever, on return the engine management locks me out. The dash warning lights are all on, motor, padlock etc, even flashers and airbag light. Once the radio stayed on after switching off. There are sort of many random faults. And the engine won't start. In about 2 hours it rectifies itself from some experience tonight and will start.
Any ideas what might be the issue here?
Big Black.

Who services the car? I would recommend Lance Dixon in Doncaster. They will be one place that has the Examiner computer to check fault codes.

If you are happy to try a new battery, worth a go. It is a common culprit (low voltage) for electrical probs. Or use a multimeter to check the battery voltage first to see if it's particularly low (below 12.0V).

There's the Italian Job in Oakleigh, Monza Motors in Bayswater, Lance Dixon in Doncaster, Mauceri Motors in Clayton who all should have examiners.

Maranello PurSang also have an examiner. I had my car plugged into it this morning.
