Title: Power Steering Hose
Post by: GTVeloce on May 11, 2011, 02:44:46 PM
Hi all

My power steering in my 75 TS has developed a leak! It appears to be the hose coming out from the pump going to the rack. Are these hoses easy to replace? On initial inspection this looks like it will be very hard to remove/replace as the connection to the pump looks like it is fixed to the hose. I could cut the hose to remove but that doesn't help with installing the new one. Any thoughts as to where to get another hose? Should I take it to a hose person and get them to make one for me?

Thanks
Julian

I'm wrecking a V6 auto 75, if you want to go s/h. I think the systems are basically the same.

If you get it re-made, which isn't usually too expensive, I do recommend new copper or aluminium washers on the banjos. (The shop I used to work at always did)
Also, the p/s systems on 90s have four different size banjos for the four connections and I'd imagine that that would apply to the 75 as well, so you may have to do some digging to get the different size washers.

(I ended up at a tractor workshop to find two of the sizes)
