Title: "safety car" at Phillip Island
Post by: jimnielsen on December 03, 2010, 10:53:44 AM
Neil.. in the preface to the sup regs for Phillip Island next week it says that the safety car will be on the track till turn 4. Does this mean that it will exit on its very first lap, not having done a complete lap of the track? If so that is fine, however if the safety car is going to do another complete lap to turn four, we will effectively have two slow warm up laps. If this is what you intend can I suggest that the safety car be brought in at the other track exit just after turn 11, having almost completed a single full lap.

regards..

Jim

The Safety Car will only go up to Turn 4 in the very first lap then turn off back into pits.

The sprint group will proceed on its own from Turn 4 around onto straight (without Safety Car) and waved a Green Flag at S/F for a flying start.

THE SAFETY CAR WILL NOT DO A COMPLETE LAP.

Clear as mud?

Neil
