Title: Group Sh
Post by: alfagtv58 on May 03, 2007, 05:10:08 PM
I noticed in the recent Historic Commission Minutes that Group Sh has been given the nod to be included as a Historic group.  It will be interesting to see what impact this will have on Group S in its current guise, given that Group S fields seem to be full already, hopefully the inclusion of Sh will not mean more oversubscription and people missing out on a regular basis.  I am also keen to see the freedom granted to this class, these cars have a competition history already and you can guarantee that they would have had components in them in the day that do not conform with current regulations.

You may find that the promoters don't run them with Sabc but with them with one of the other categories with comp history.

I can see the promotors being tempted to take the easy option of splitting Group S and run Sa/b and Sc/h.  Not ideal with the amount af Alfa's running in both Sb and Sc, it would be nice to keep them running around together.

Possible, but an option was that they would run sh with L, M and O.  Just putting them with Sa Sb may not work as you could have Sh cars up to 1981.  There probably wouldn't be many cars but I think it is up to us to work with the promoters to get the best outcome - that is the cars running in the true historic categories (LMO) rather than Sabc.
