Title: Diff Explosion
Post by: jimnielsen on March 04, 2007, 04:48:44 PM
Thought I'd post a picture of my diff disaster from winton yesterday.  If anybody has any ideas of where I can get another 4.5556 crownwheel & pinion, I would be interested!

Doesn't look good jim - what are the options if you can't get one - there aren't many of these around?

That's pretty spectacular! (In a bad way of course)
What car did the 4.5556:1 diff come out of originally?

I believe that the 4.5556 diff's were made for racing. They restrict top speed, but increase acceleration. Vin Sharp at PACE engineering got this particular unit for me. The new one is coming from Beninca's.

cheers, jim..

Jim

Can't you fix it with liquid steel?

How are the repairs going?

PS When are you building the Group S car?  (yes, I know I sound like a broken record)
