Title: Sprint Owner
Post by: Pinkstig67 on March 03, 2007, 01:22:41 PM
Hi my name is Kathrynna from BALLARAT, I'm .19 years old an i own an Alfa SPRINT 1987.

I love my car its different an loud! I think the Sprint is better then the GTV even tho there is more GTV's around i still think the sprint is much better!
I soooo.... would love to meet more people witht the same car as mine!!! Coz mine is the only Sprint in Ballarat!

But bloody hell my car sucks the fuel down!!!! an with petrol prices going up and me being a Uni student without a job its pretty hard to enjoy a decent cruise in it :(

I hope to be able to join this club! But i dont have the cash on me atm... Soon as i can afford it i will be joining!!!

Well iI hope to get to kno more people in this that are ALfa Romeo lovers... there pretty awesome cars!!!

TTFN!

Welcome Kathrynna,

Thats a nice looking "baby" GTV you have there, it's always good to see these older Alfa's running. I know what you mean about being a broke uni student, plus my daily driver (1984 Mazda 626) is pretty bad on fuel aswell with the way I drive it.

Its actually a straight SPRINT not a GTV i dont like GTV's much... mine much better

i honestly prefer the bigger and what i call better GTV, or even better, the GTV6

Nooooo.... Mine much better coz its mine!

AND!

Coz it has RALLYKATTY on the back coz thats my nickname...

I race with the Ballarat Light Car Club!

As I always say... "Its the driver, Not the car"

And a wise man told me once:- 'To be a good driver we have to adjust to suit the faults the car might have, and overcome the faults in a way to make the car perform better....'

I know it's a sprint but I call them baby GTVs because that's what they look like, a smaller GTV.

Is it any quicker than your little green Honda around the track?

Ha ha! U be surprised on what that Honda can do!
The Alfa is a bit worn out now! needs its head done i rekon! Can still pull a skid tho!!!! ;D

I have tried the Alfa around the track tho... Its bloody better then my corolla handles better anyways!

Ah yes the good old skid, it's what Ballarat teenagers do best, especially down at Big W car park, lol.

Ha ha! what dosen't handle better than the Corolla?

Hey Kathrynna, you should come to Melbourne and check out one of the club activities some day.  Check the calendar on this site.

Plenty of Sprint owners in the club.  I don't own one but I had the chance to drive a fellow clubmembers Sprint on one of our runs (my Alfa had just been crashed by a dickhead)  and I loved it.  The handling was so good that it was only rarely that I could tell it was front wheel drive.  Great little cars.  And beautiful.  But that's the essence of the club, I couldn't drive my car, so someone with a spare Alfa lent me theirs for the day.

One Caveat though.  Be VERY wary of a fellow Sprint owner by the name of Teruo.  You have been warned.

What sort of seat covers?

Funny.

Are you saying PSB's are gay?  As if!  Next you'll be saying Jimmy Somerville and/or Frankie goes to Hollywood are gay.  Go the 80's!!

I hate to sabotage other threads, so we'll carry this on by email.  But I couldn't afford to go because of this:-

Scary a 19 year old in a sprint .... i remember ... only a few years ago a 19yr old in a sud ...a couple of years have passed but the maturity level has not increased, only the number of alfas and how fast they go, and believe me that trend will continue.

Well i must say one thing .... you ARE DOOMED, first comes the sprint, then you'll buy something faster, you never get rid of the sprint, then you buy something else, and still have the other to, you continue to be at uni and then buy something else.

Gee this sounds familiar.

So yer i do motorkhana's an autocross's and khanacross's... Soon be doing hillclimbs and short circuit... I race a Toyota Corolla Twin Cam 16 Hatchback (love it to death)
As well as my Sprint is my baby too!

I be doing short circuit in a Honda NSX (its going to be Hot Pink-So look out for it... Yes its like the one in Tokyo Drift  :P) U prob ondering how i bloody affrd an NSX well people its sponsored to me  :D The importer saw i had the skills so yer i thankfully got a loan an also custom painted for me! Also most likely going to Japan to practice some racing  :P and will be doing it in a 180SX

That woudl be a great trick.

I am sorry if I was somewhat insensitive with my question. I thought that your writing "style" is a matter of misguided choice, but it is quite possible that you actually cannot write English properly.
If you never learned to write English then your writing is a good effort and you should be congratulated! I'll assume that is the case!

Feeling better about yourself guys?  Way to encourage new members to the forum and/or club by the way.

Kathrynna, I see you have a Honda S600, can I ask where you managed to acquire that?  They're getting very rare and expensive.

I'll pay for your petrol to get to Melbourne if you bring that and give me a drive!!   Always loved those and the S800.

My father handed it down to me. He rebuilt it  when i was younger and i used to sit int he back facing out the boot, till i couldnt fit anymore an was hitting my head.
now i drive it but i dont like driving it much because the clutch is almost gone.. and we'd have to get it rebuilt or something because u cant buy new ones anymore...

But appart from that... thats the only thing stopping me from taking it down there coz it might not get there... So sorry... it might only have to be the Sprint that can make it there....

Kathrynna,
great to know there is someone else out there struggling with the concept of selling their sprint!
I recently did after 4 years and $14k! but i know where it is and that it is being used for what it was built up for... and i have first rights to rebuy it if/when it is sold again.

keep up the enthusiasm and we hope to see you at a club event and hear about your various motorsport activities.
Why not post some pics of your various rides for all to see?

The honda coupe and the three wheel morgan look pretty cool, but that shot of the scamp looks like it is the most fun.
