Title: My intro
Post by: 101phil on June 17, 2009, 11:25:28 AM
Hi all,

Not an Alfa owner just yet, but Im hoping to step into Black 2.2 159 very soon.

Coming from a Ford family I own a AUI XR6 Sedan and my wife has a AUII XR6 Ute. We are not big fans of the current offerings from Ford we have started looking for something different, saw the TV ad for the 159, took one for a drive and was very impressed.

So now its down to sorting out the finances and seeing how we go.

So not knowing much about Alfas I may be on here asking a few questions everynow and again.

no only 159 - need to buy new to take advantage of the government tax breaks..

is the 156 a better car?

The 159 is a better car.
Cheers,

that's relative...

it depends on your personal taste for design as the only thing really seperating them is the design.
the finishes are equal, the performance is equal in the sense that you're not going to drive it at it's limits (admitably the 159 has more power), the features are equal, the servicing is relatively equal.

therefore it comes down to the personal preferance for the design of one over the other.  for me the 156 wins.

Thanks for you replies..

I think I have been stung with the Alfa bug already without even owning one... On the way to work today passed a Red looked to be 80s styling only badge I can remember was GTV, but it looked similar to this but with flared guards.

Looked very cool.. Jumped on CarPoint to see what else was there and the 03 147 GTA took my attention as a nice second car..

Baby steps though, first things first I need to get my 159
