Hi
searching in vain for a guide on how to remove a 159 2.4 JTDM engine.
While it may be just a matter of remove anything in the way, until it falls out on the ground - the usual technique, I'd like to read something on it to avoid some simple error for a change.
Is there an online workshop manual?
TIA Nigel
Hi mate, try this workshop manual. It's in a zip file and you just have to run 'setup.exe' to install the software.
The GUI is a bit rough but it has the info you need. Can't remember where I got it but had it for a few years now, I needed it myself when I was trying to hunt for a part number.

If you look at how the 159 is assembled (and this probably goes for all east-west engined cars), the body is lowered onto the complete engine/trans/transaxles. So, I'm guessing, you'd kinda do the reverse if you can.
I have a copy of the manual on CD, it's not much use, IMO.

You have a copy of the 159 eLearn factory workshop manual or something else?
While the elearn manual is not perfect i would hardly call it useless.

I didn't say your manual was useless. What I said was the CD I have is not much use (and not useless).
Ohhhhhhhh. ;D

With the 159 series the engine is taken out the front -

Why are we pulling the donk out again
(said everybody looking at the work involves to get there, and back)
Pity it's not a Sud.. couple of bolts, pull the top mount and bang.. on the floor

Ahhh yes, but how many times has that also happened quite unintentionally . . . . ;)
thanks for the replies.
I now have an elearn manual, its no Haynes manual that i was weaned on.
the cd link, i ran the setup etc, but it keeps asking for the cd...
I'm now thinking of just doing the belts pump and leaking power steering hose.
I wanted to remove and clean the intake, but the more I look at removing I'm thinking why! yes it is no Alfasud!
where does one buy parts from these days? Italian job, eurosparItallian automotive spares, sparesbox???
For the eLearn software to work, you have to extract the RAR file (if its zipped up) then use imaging software like DaemonTools to make a disc image file which has all of those files in it. Then, you can use Windows inbuilt capability to mount the image as a virtual disc, it will run after that.

While I can understand all that, I couldn't stop giggling thinking of all the poor people who read this and went "huh"? :o
