Post by: ALFAAA on January 15, 2023, 06:23:03 AM
Hi to all,
Does any know where I can get a new 2 1/2 inch pre made exhaust system for a 2 litre Alfetta GTV.
Standards are 2'

Can't recommend anywhere in particular (unless you're in Perth), but if you go to a half decent exhaust shop they should be able to fabricate something on the spot to order for reasonable price.

On the recommendation of a fellow Perth member four years ago, I went to a guy at a local exhaust shop and he manufactured an entire front half system for my '81 GTV (collector to centre box, but also new rear mounts) inside a day for under $350. Obviously, some inflation since then but all you can

Thank you poohbah,

My car is not drivable at the moment and I need a temperary exhaust so I can start the engine and not get my neighbours upset.

Does anyone have 2 1/2' rear section of the exhaust pipe muffler for a GTV 4 cylinder. :(

In that case, maybe try online - there's a mob based here in WA (The Fiat Factory Australia) advertising a brand new stock Alfetta GT/GTV exhaust system for $850 on ebay. Made by IMASAF in Italy.

the standard is 1.75inch exhaust the group 1 105 gtv used a 2 inch
there is possiblty room for a 2.25inch but i think 2,5 inch wont fit and will reduce performance

Yes, 2.25" will fit.

I would suggest 2 1/2 is too big unless you have significant breathing mods.

There are race applications that have smaller diameter.

But, if you can weld, you can make your own.

Hi NSharpley,
I have a 3.2 24v v6 Busso in my Alfetta GTV, It started life as a 4 cylinder car.
All the running gear is v6 but I kept the 4 cylinder fuel tank.

I am also after a v6 propshaft with the splined front shaft.

And a GTV6 isostatic gear rod and then my car is complete.
Regards
