Title: Electric seat tilt function - 156 GTA
Post by: poohbah on October 26, 2022, 08:06:57 PM
Any tips on fixing the seat-back tilt function on GTA seats (the tilt function is electric)?

I've had the car almost a year, and only just realised the seat-back tilt function on the drivers seat doesn't work (I never had any reason to change the angle of repose). Works fine on passenger seat.

It's operated by a small toggle switch on the side of the seat. So far, no idea of what is actually the primary cause - could be motor, wiring, connection, anything really. All I know is there is no noise at all when you press the switch.

Hi John,
I think it may be related to the switch. I have to press mine quite hard at a certain angle for it to work. Not sure how to remove the switch but I reckon if it is cleaned up inside, it will work fine. I did the same for the switches on my 164 and they came up good.
Cheers

Cheers mate, will give that a go first.

Have done similar "fixes" on window switches on my prior 156s too.

Coincidentally, the window switch on the passenger side door also needs to be pressed in an oh-so-certain way to work (slight pull toward the occupant...).
