Title: Alfa 156 V6 Brake issue
Post by: Rob H on July 20, 2021, 10:18:08 AM
Hi all - rejoining after many years. I have a 2002 156 V6 2.5 Auto. The brake pedal on starting falls too far in my view compared to other cars and Alfa's I have had. It has a new master cylinder and brakes have been bled which improved things slightly but nothing great. I am told they were all like this but I'm not sure. Has passed RWC but not like my 156 Twin Spark. Could it be a booster leak or hoses? Any guidance or contacts of who might be equipped to take a look appreciated.

As to how far your pedal drops, and is it excessive is very much a subjective issue. The only way to know for sure is to take it to one of the many excellent Alfa specialists in Melbourne and get them to asses it, they know the cars intimately and will be able to advise you correctly.

If you let us know what suburb you're in I am sure one of our members will be able to suggest someone suitable close to you.
