Title: motor movement
Post by: pafiat on May 29, 2021, 03:13:11 PM
Hi, I have a 1.8 Giulietta from 1983. Nice thing. When cranking it over, or at idle the motor jumps about quite energetically on its mounts, so much so that the car also shakes. It calms down a bit when it warms up. Is this normal or do I need to look at something? Any suggestions welcome.

I have put new engine mounts at the front but not the rear (two sizes were used, 62 and 64mm from memory, I have to crawl under and measure and then find the courage to do the work!).

put new plugs in
failing that you should zero out the carbs and start afresh
sounds like they are completey out of balance
thats if your engine mounts are ok
if still no do a compression test
get back to us
ps carb tuning is just a search away very easy
