Title: TS GTV gearbox
Post by: four90s on May 11, 2021, 03:59:26 PM
Gidday Trendsetters.

With my TS GTV (Oct 2000) having done 380,000km (and having just done the third timing belt under my ownership) I've noticed the gearbox is starting to whinge a little bit. I've also got a bit of backlash on light throttle around the 60-70kmh mark.

I've not managed to get the drain plug out for a look see but as there is a bit of a leak from the box somewhere and I have to top it up every month or so the oil is fresh-ish.

However, the question I have for the brains trust is can I use a 5 speed gearbox from a similar vintage GTV6? Are they interchangeable? Are the diff ratios different?
I just realised that makes three questions, but all responses welcome.

Thanks
Steve
