Title: Alfamen Permanently Closed
Post by: AlfaRomeoGTV6 on December 18, 2020, 03:13:21 AM
A couple of weeks ago a Google search returned a result for Alfamen as being 'Temporarily Closed', now such Google search returns a result as being 'Permanently Closed'.  :( :( :( :(

Alfamen’s profile on LinkedIn no longer appears as well. I live in Torquay.  Is there an independent Alfa Romeo specialist in Melbourne’s West?  My wife works in Geelong and has noticed a few more late model Alfa Romeos on the road of late and I do wonder where these cars are being cared for. Geelong does not have an independent Alfa Romeo specialist. There are a few ‘European-car’ specialist workshops servicing ALL European manufacturers in Geelong. But that is not what I want.

I know you advised you'd like an Alfa Romeo specialist and not a generic European one, but have a chat with Paul from European Affair in Geelong, he worked at an Alfa Romeo dealership back in the 80's/90's

I'm on the northside of Geelong, but have continued to go to Maranello Pur-sang in Brunswick. Bit of a slog, sure.

In other news (for the record) I had to stop in Horsham on the way home from interstate. Rudolph Motors seem great, although they did only scan, clear a dash light, check over the car and send me on my way again. They're older generation mechanics who appreciated classic cars, MBs and a client's 156 V6, and enjoy a good chat, so useful if you're ever in the region. Not Geelong though!

I spoke with Giancarlo sometime last week regarding replacing the cam belt and water pump on my 2010 159 2.4 (Giancarlo and I go back to the late 1990s with my GTV6 at Pur-Sang in South Melbourne).  Giancarlo wants the 159 for 2 days.  Giancarlo doesn't have a loan car and I live in Torquay.  I subsequently spoke with Alex Donnini and he is confident of effecting the service within a day.

Thank you Montalfisti. Cheers, Ron

Hi Ron

Did you get your car serviced with Alex Donnini (Malvern East)?  Would you recommend them?

I need the cambelt done (and general service) on my 3.2 GT.  My mum lives relatively close, so I could stop there overnight if required.

Thanks.
Richard

What about Mauceri Motors? Great Club sponsor and comes highly recommended. Not too far from the Monash Fwy so probably no worse than Malvern East as far as travel times from Geelong. Also, Seb races a GT so knows them well and I'm confident he would do it in a day if you booked it in advance.

Thanks for the suggestion.  Could be a good option, though not (quite) on the same train line as my mother's place.  :P
