Title: Poor idle and flat spot
Post by: arash79 on October 18, 2020, 09:59:48 PM
Hi Guys,

I have a 2003 Alfa Spider 916 with a 2.0 JTS engine.

The engine idles a little poorly and has a flat spot when you accelerate on take off when the engine is cold and between gear changes.

When i rev then engine and the rev's return back to idle the engine almost stalls before recovering

I connected the Multiecuscan tool to check the Lambda sensors voltage and got the attached results. Could anybody tell me if these figures look correct. I was unable to find the short term and long term fuel trims on this tool but when I used the Torque app on my phone I could see both bank 1 and bank 2 long term fuel trims has very high positive values.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks

First place I would suspect is a faulty MAF.

I assume the engine light was staying on and that is the reason for connecting your diagnostic tool. As Baz has identified the symptoms you describe you have a faulty MAF sensor.

Faulty MAF rarely shows a engine warning light.
