Title: 105 Floor Pan Butt Joint Location?
Post by: MH80 on June 23, 2020, 04:21:37 PM
Hi, this is probably a quick one for someone to answer that has replaced floor pans before... I am just wondering whether the factory floor pans were a single piece front to rear? Or whether they were like the replacement floor pans you can buy (front and rear for each side, i.e 4 in total) and are butt welded together somewhere over the crossmember? If the latter, where exactly is the butt weld in relation to the crossmember? I can't see any evidence of a weld on mine, so am guessing it was once piece from factory.

Cheers,
Mark

Hi Mark, yea pretty sure it was one piece from the factory, no way they would but weld it and spend the time flattening it back to make it look like a single piece

Defo one piece (front back, each side of the tunnel) originally. I saw an old video once on YouTube(? Alfamale) that showed the floor being made.. tunnel in a jig and then the sides spot welded on.
