Title: Giulietta QV - Manual mode short shifting/ over-revving?
Post by: jvidd on March 23, 2020, 05:16:49 PM
Hi All,

I have a 2015 Giulietta QV and noticed that sometimes when in dynamic mode and in manual gear selector mode and under full throttle from low speed, when it hits 3rd gear and starts revving up it then over revvs quickly and almost short shifts and then kind of shifts back. It feels like the clutch is slipping or it is going into the next gear then changes it's mind. Any thoughts? I tried under load again in automatic mode and it didn't do it.

My thoughts are that perhaps as it's an adaptive gear box and I obviously don't usually drive under full load or in dynamic it's getting used to it? But not sure.

Thanks in advance,

Joel.

Hi Joel.

If it's a TCT box and it's done more than 70,000km, it's more than likely the odd gears clutch slipping. A good test is to see if it slips in 3rd/5th. Travel around 40km/h then just hit full throttle. If it's the clutch, it'll slip in 3rd/5th, but not in 2nd/4th/6th.

Have a smell of the engine bay too, you can usually smell the burnt clutch.

Hope that helps.

Mick.

Hey mate,

Thanks for the reply I'll give it a go.

Mine has only done 54kms so wouldn't think it would be having this issue so soon...

Regards,

Joel.
