Title: iDRIVE EVC throttle controller?
Post by: bowds116 on March 06, 2020, 06:11:38 PM
Hi all
My daughter bought herself a 2009 159 1.9JTDm Auto. When I took it for a drive... as you do... I was amazed at how well it performed. Not the slug I remember test driving at a dealer club night a decade ago. Then I see it has an extra little gadget plugged into the factory pedal plug.

The online blurb says:

"Introducing a sharper throttle curve not only reduces throttle lag but it also actuates the throttle quicker, thus opening the butterfly quicker. It does this by adjusting the torque request to your throttle table, similar to the way professional tuners manually adjust the throttle tables when ECU tuning. It is also bringing the throttle in earlier throughout the pedal stroke to reduce throttle lag/dead zone in the pedal."

Seems to work, just want to know if anyone knows a reason for removing it.
Thanks

If it works, leave the bloody thing alone.   ;)

Won't do any harm, just helps your daughter to be a "lead foot" !   :)

I added one of these to my 2.4 Ti a few weeks ago. Very good results and much faster throttle response.
