Title: Suspension Shop
Post by: MickyV on December 23, 2019, 12:22:51 PM
Hi All,

I finally managed to buy myself a GTV6 (very happy). The previous owner lowered the car and set up the camber for track days. I want to return the car to original suspension set up for road use. Can anyone recommend a suspension shop in Sydney (surrounding suburbs and west is fine) who can do this for me ?.
Thanks.

Hopefully someone will chime in but:

My advice is NOT to go to a generic suspension shop. Go to an Alfa Romeo specialist with lots of experience in 116 cars. I.e. If they don't have one or personally owned a few (or come with very good recommendations), forget them I say. Get them to see what has been done to the car first: like possibly upgraded torsion bars etc.

Changing ride height in these while not a black art is a little tricky, particularly if larger torsion bars are fitted.

Once changes are made, then the car needs to go to a REPUTABLE SPECIALIST shop for a wheel alignment with specs and instructions to suit your needs. I stress this as I recently had some dealings with what was once one of Canberra's best suspension shops. The managed to totally screw up the WA on a GTV6 and then could not tell me what was the difference between positive and negative caster (OMFG!).

Will PM you with a lead.

Hi Luke,
Thanks for the advice. I'll try your recommendation. I agree your best to go with a specialist.
