Title: Bit the bullet....
Post by: Backto105 on October 26, 2019, 05:33:37 PM
.... and purchased my first new Alfa since 1998! I can finally tell Barry Edmunds that I own a Giulia Super!!

Alfa Giulia Super. As Marco has done a great job with his overview of the Giulia and the Veloce, thought I might throw in my impressions of the Super. With 3 x 105's in the stable and being an Alfa 105 diehard, this new car is quite impressive. And that is difficult to say after two late model Jaguars as daily drivers before the Giulia.

Finally an Alfa that has engine in front, trans in the middle and diff in the back!! The way road cars should be!

Excellent build quality and finish. Very smooth and quiet. Very nice luxury feel with the softest leather I have ever felt.

Colour is Imola Titanium which just glows in the sun.

Handling is brilliant, have just returned from a fang in the pouring rain along the back roads of the Yarra Valley.

Will update as time goes by and we get to know each other.... so far the only gripe is the antiquated Sat Nav and the tedious rotary dial interface....

What? There's somewhere in Australian where it's actually raining? Bloody hell, "stop the presses!"   :o

Looks great Mark.  Barry will be pleased 😊

Does it have CarPlay?  Would that address the satnav issue?

Thanks Al! Hope all is well with you. I haven't been doing my quarterly trips to the USA since retiring!! But I don't miss the travel! Happy to stay at home and play with my cars!

AHHH.... haven't even checked to see if it has carplay!!

The problem with the sat nav is like comparing a stick figure to a da Vinci.... the Alfa has the stick figure!!

Hey Bazz.... yep, where I live, on the edge of the Yarra Valley, we have had a cold wet winter, the result being that the rolling hills of the Yarra Valley are a lush, thick, deep green and all the farm dams are overflowing.

I was on the Gold Coast last weekend. Looks pretty dry up there although through the hinterland around Beechmont and Springbrook looked ok.

Come over and we'll do the Donut Derelicts / Cars and Coffee crawl!  Always a good way to spend a Saturday morning 😊

I'm not sure what the models and spec are in Oz but over here CarPlay became available late 2018, with the 2019 model year.
