Title: Hello first post 156 JTS Sportwagon fuel pump replacement
Post by: Giulia on October 10, 2019, 06:10:08 PM
Hello and first post from the Blue Mountains. Have a 156 JTS Sportwagon 2005. The fuel pump is leaking causing fumes inside the cabin. I lifted the floor cover material, undid three bolts holding the cover. Fuel pump appears offset from the cover which is attached to a black metal plate bolted to the body. Do I need to remove this plate, necessitating removal of rear seat to better access the pump for replacement? Thank you.

Hi Giulia
Had to replace the fuel pump on my 156 JTS and find below link on replacement versus repair using JB weld. PS : Disconnect battery before attempting replacement of  fuel pump. After removal of inspection plate the plastic outer ring needs to be unscrewed using special tool or hammer and timber drift.

Thank you. I found a pump at a reasonable price. Will certainly disconnect battery.
