Title: AROCA (Vic) Committee Position - Public Relations

Presently, the club has a vacancy and the need to fill the position of Public Relations.  I'm sure there are people within the membership capable of filing this role very well.  The club needs the services of a person (or persons) to provide to the public, industry bodies, supporters, sponsors, partners, club members and other stakeholders, information regarding the Club, its leadership, vision, charter and activities.  Using Social Media and other traditional forms of communication as required, this role is necessary to raise the profile of the Alfa Romeo Owners Club in Victoria and where appropriate, interstate and overseas.
As with all other positions on the committee, this person is an integral component of a self supporting team.  All committee members have responsibilities, however each position is as much about coordination as anything else.  As part of this team, assistance is always available and always offered.  The success of AROCA (Vic) motorsport and social events is due to the effective coordination and sharing around of responsibilities and easily achievable tasks.   
The position of Public Relations is responsible for coordinating:
•   the provision of club information regarding events to the appropriate media channels.  This information is usually sourced from the Competition Department, the Social Secretary, the Vice President, the President and the Register Captains. 
•   provision of a conduit for communications between the club and Alfa Romeo Australia and its dealers in Victoria.  This information is usually sourced from the President, the Vice President and the Secretary.
•   assistance with articles and information for the Club Magazine and the website.  All committee members can provide the information for coordination.  Register Captains and Co-opted Members also provide this information.
•   the provision and support of guest speakers and / or presentations as required.  Again, ANY club member is capable of knowing and approaching likely guest speakers and presenters.
•   club Calendar and event assistance and planning.  All committee members can provide the information for coordination.  Register Captains and Co-opted Members also provide this information.
•   the support of the club in members deriving real benefit from their membership
•   the support of sponsorship of key club activities with assistance from the President and Vice President
AROCA (Vic) either operates or is involved very closely with more than 35 formal activities each year.  From time to time, these events are not as well publicised or promoted as they could be.  The role of Public Relations is as much about promotion and the coordination of promotion as anything.  Today we have extremely efficient and effective media tools available to us for the promulgation and promotion of AROCA (Vic) and its various competition, social and technical events.  The committee and members of AROCA (Vic) request your consideration to this most valuable position.
