Title: Multiair unit/actuator
Post by: Luc on May 05, 2019, 04:32:56 PM
Hi
I have had a long term problem (2years) with my Alfa Giuletta progression 2014. It intermittently started missing when I accelerated. Like cylinders not firing properly. No code showed up when I first took it to the mechanic so they couldn't diagnose it. As time went on it happened every time the car was cold so I left it at the mechanic over night. They had the car for three months and tried various tests. They suggested I might need to replace the computer at one point but they weren't sure that this was the problem. They are now saying that the multiar unit actuator needs replacing.
I would like to know if other Alfa Giulietta owners have had similar problems.
Thank you.

Misfiring can be a symptom of a MultiAir failure, but also of about 20 other things that could be the cause.

Are they using dedicated Alfa Romeo diagnostic software or the usual general purpose code reader?

MultiEcuScan can do most things that you need, AlfaOBD can do a lot more, but is more difficult & involved to use.
