Title: Stuck seat belt
Post by: Joe Garra on October 24, 2008, 02:43:29 PM
Hi guys and girls,
the rear driver's side seatbelt in my 164Q is stuck. It is fully retracted and won't budge when I pull on it. Is it easy to fix (remember I'm not a mechanic) or do I need to take it somewhere?
Thanks

you may not get too many replies until next week as it is the AROCA Vic 6-hour this weekend so many of the usual suspects will be under the hood rather than in front of the www.  Sadly i am 6oooks away so am stuck with the www.

Is the 164 electrical or manual seat?

if manual, the arm may have dislodged itself. If you can get access to it, then you might as well try yourself first as anyone else will have to try manual manipulation first as until the seat can be moved, it can be removed.

If electrical.... gonna need ot take it somewhere. What city are you in?

it's the rear seat. It's just a reel seat belt. There's a plastic cover over where the seat belt goes in - I'm scared I might break it trying to get it off to have a look. I'm in melbourne, and usually take the car to Giancarlo at Pursang-Maranello.

i totally misread your thread as a stuck seat not seatbelt.  Inertia reels can stick when on an incline or a quick, sharp tug or three might break it loose.  Otherwise  I'd say bring it to the attention of Giancarlo and Bruno next time you are at Pursang Maranello.
