Title: Pasta run 2018
Post by: poohbah on December 09, 2018, 09:27:01 PM
Had a great day on the annual pasta run through Perth hills today in the GTV. Good turnout of Alfas, fezzas and fiats as usual, including a brace of F40s. Was a hoot, and the first time I've had the benefit of a navigator and didn't get lost - thanks Chris (ugame). Sorry this was the only pic I took.

Ah, completely forgot about that, still, GTV6 has misplaced reverse and 5th so probably wouldn't have made sense to go out anyway [emoji28]

Where's your sense of adventure...?

I drove a '76 Valiant station wagon around with no reverse gear for about two months back in my student days. Was no problem til the one time i forgot I had to park where I could drive out. Parked nose-first in mum's downhill driveway when she was away on a cruise, right behind her '86 Corolla hatch.

Had a sit down and a think. Then I went and grabbed some cushions off the sofa, tied em to the back of the Corolla and backed the Valiant up the slope and into the road (unmanned!!) during a break in traffic, hopped out of the Corolla and popped the Valiant onto the verge...

Mum never knew a thing!  8)

Didn't she suspect something when the trusty Corolla needed a new clutch the following week.

They were pretty tough, those injected twin cam 1600s.
