Title: Where to buy a new radiator
Post by: robfetta on November 15, 2018, 04:51:30 PM
Hi,

I have been having trouble finding a supplier of radiators for older alfas.
In particular I need to repair or replace a radiator for a 1983 Alfetta sedan. my local radiator shops says he will have to hand fabricate the tanks and fit them to a new core.

Has any one got any ideas, absolute originality is not a must on this car.

Many thanks
Rob

I had a similar thing with my Toyota - nothing off the shelf and a re core was $550 so I ended up importing an aluminum racing rad in the same dimensions from summit racing in US then had the tabs and pipes welded to suit. Only snag is if I ever try for historic rego it might be an issue.

Hi Rob
As indicated by Psedonym  NOS radiator would not be available. I am sure that there are Radiator service providers in your area that just specialise in this type work, ie recondition your existing radiator. I would just get several quotes and go for the one that you are comfortable with, just make sure they can provide a minimum of 12 months warranty.
