Post by: Ahsoka on August 19, 2018, 01:27:28 PM
Well I lucked onto a Jul 2002 black 156 Alfa with the 2.5 V6 engine in it .
Only 120,000 K's and it has the tall wing the wheel arch flares and the trick rear bumper on it from new .
However I have the Reg/Rec in my hand as the alternator was not charging .
Please please please can someone tell me where to get a replacement in Brisbane ????
I really like it and my son who only drove for about 12 minutes now sez it's his Alfa cos he likes it so much !!

Ok , new reg rec arrived in 1 1/2 days...awesome , could not get the top screw out from the back and also had to shorten a 3/8 drive 15 mm socket and cut flats on the back so I could use an open ender on the socket .
So unbolted the alt and turned it 180 in place so I could access the back of it through the inner guard....that made it easy and you can be absolutely bloody sure that the 5 mm philips head screw was replaced by a bolt and also that the 15 mm nuts were replaced by 12 mm flared nuts cos then you can use a 1/4 drive socket and ratchet to undo them  !!
Next time it will be easy from the back !!
Total success , cranked it up and 14.4 volts at the battery...yayyy .
Very appy , now just to fix the fuel pump cracked plastic leak !!
