Title: Alfa 159
Post by: Stephen Arnold on June 24, 2018, 05:31:08 PM
Need help
Flashing odometer interior temp not displaying Central locking closed down Acces to vechile
Randomly working
Previously repaired with replacement of door controller very expensive for the problem
To return again (what are the chances of a second door controller being faulty)
There was a previous post with all the system  problems and it stated all was needed was a clean up
Can anyone explain what this would mean
Dealership doesn't want to know
Txs

Without throwing the car on a Diagnostic suite to see whats what there is no way to tell what the problem is.

Check the earth cable is firmly attached to the gearbox housing.

It probably isn't the fix to the problem.  But a lot of problems can be caused by this.

Other places to start include; how old is the battery and what did somebody last touch/unplug

Sounds like it needs a PROXI Alignment with MES. Flashing odo is indicative of this, and a CAN electrical item has been replaced (door controller). See an Alfa workshop or get ypurseld sorted with a Multiecuscan software and cables.
