Title: Rear Gearbox Bush Removal
Post by: NSharpley on March 04, 2018, 05:44:15 PM
Hey ... the rear gearbox mount/bush ... its just a press-fit right?

Tap it out with a suitable sized socket, yes?  Or does it require something a little more serious?

You will probably need to make or buy a tool like in the photo. Tapping with a socket will probably be a wasted effort as the bushes can be very tight
What ever method you try, to remove the bolt easily you must take the weight of the transaxle  by jacking it up slightly then pull the bolt out then lower the transaxle to expose the bush

Good luck

Figured as much, thanks.

The trans-axle is already out of the car so no problem there ...
