Title: Drivers Seat on Alfa 33
Post by: SteveHobart on October 08, 2017, 07:54:16 PM
Hi guys!

Next stupid question time! :)

The Drivers Chair on the Alfa is stuffed. Completely collapsed, springs broken (3 out of the 4 are snapped) foam ruined and fabric torn.

I have two choices, 1 is get it re-upholstered where matching the original upholstery is highly unlikely to be matched.

Or 2, Supercrap Auto have SAAS sports seats on special for $179.

Which way would you go?

And will the SAAS seats fit or would they be too much of a pain in the ass?

Would love to see what you end up doing.  I believe it is possible for a motor trimmer to replace springs and repair foam inserrts obviously at a cost.  Im building a sud at the noment and have yet to get to the interior. My seats aren't great but are salvageable.
Another option,  but way more expensive, is sports seats or reproduction seats from the era. Look up fusina seats. The autodelta italian website has a few options to look at for the sud,  but i would source from elsewhere due to price.
Im starting to like the look of the reproduction bucket seats,  but also think i could refabric my seats in a similar style? I like the look of the vynyl edges with black cordoroy centres.
