Post by: MatB on July 25, 2017, 07:41:08 PM
Good afternoon Alfa forum,
Thought it was about time to register as I've been floating about as a guest for awhile and it's high time I got involved.
Currently have this(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170725/1af42408bb4e9d1dce27e978c4265f36.jpg)
And the major project which is only just arrived back from the body shop

It's a 1971 1750 series 2  in Bianco Spino, black interior
Engine and gearbox are ready

Just requires full assembly, how hard can that be.

Welcome aboard MatB and it appears from your collection you have definitely been bitten by the Alfa Romeo bug. As I am located in Sydney, I hope to catch up on National events such as Auto Italia 2018 or Alfesta which is being hosted by AROCA NSW in 2018. It would be fantastic if the white 105 is ready in time to take it to these events around Easter.

Thinking a bit of a slow burn on re assembly. Giving myself 12 months. While the body was away (18 months) I spent a small fortune on parts and refurbished just about everything I could. Hoping to finish to a good usable classic rather than concourse.

I thought the time frame was a bit unrealistic, as in my case the full body respray, refurbished dash and seats for my Alfetta GTV has taken nearly 2 years to complete. Anyhow, if you have not attended any of these events in the past and you want an appreciation of what they are about, have a look at the National Events board and go into the associated threads. I have attended the last 3 Auto Italia and found them to be bigger and better each year.

Mat,

Have a look at the club calendar . On 11th August there is a 105 workshop visit @ Maranello Pur Sang motors in Brunswick . Bruno always puts on a good show , with pizza & BBQ at the end.
Always a friendly crowd.
