Anyone know what the difference is between these 2 engine codes 32401 34201 for the 2.5L V6? Both seem to be valid numbers, ie not a typo with the 32 & 34 reversed.

I think you'll find just minor emissions differences. Mechanically there was no significant change in the busso over the years, most likely early and late type. (Cf2-cf3) basically cf3 has cat converters in the exhaust manifold with suitable mapping,
Edit: quick Google shows the 34201 as the 166 engine and the 32401 as the 156. Same engine maybe different angle on exhausts, engine mounts etc...
