Title: AROCA Circuit Training at Winton 2009
Post by: Neil Choi on August 14, 2008, 10:51:09 PM
Hi there all

AROCA is planning a Circuit Training day at Winton for the start of 2009.

Tentatively, it will be on Saturday 28 Feb followed with a sprint day on Sunday 1 March.

The Circuit Training is aimed at the new and novice drivers or drivers wanting some instructions on how to go around a circuit smoothly and fast.  There will be lots of track time with an instructor on board as well as theory and car dynamics sessions.

There will also be a driver training and junior session for the junior or beginner drivers, this session is aimed at people wanting some brake and swerve exercises and other defensive techniques.  There will be lots of practical exercises.

Please register your interest with me.

Regards
Neil

Hi there all,

Just to let people know that there is now significant interest from both instructors and participants, we just have to locked down the date (which will be in a week or two).

So keep the interest coming in.

Neil

Hey Domenic

Contact Barry Edmunds, he posted in about the 3rd or 4th post in this thread, requesting that all queries go to him.  He didn't post his email address, but if you click on his name it will take you to a screen which will show you his email address.

Hope this helps

If Gary and Biggus are going to be there, I had better show up as well.
Biggus needs tuition on how do overtake a burgundy 105, without ending up 20m off the track.

Dom

I'm with David; I think that pic should be replaced with something a little more appropriate, like a 75 at full opposite lock in the hands of a crazy pom at the ring.

The Circuit Training and Junior Driver Training day at Winton on Feb 28 is still on. I am just waiting on approval of the Supp Regs and the entry form and supp regs will be posted on the Club web site. Hopefully be week's end.

Closing date for both is Friday Feb 20. Only accepting 20 entries for each activity so get in quick.

Entry form and supp regs due to be posted on the Club site any day now. Just been waiting on approval from Winton and permit #.

Don't bother about the heat, it is all just a stae of mind over matter.

My brother is a member of the fiat car club and he was wondering if he is allowed to enter the driver training event? or is it just for AROCA members?

Quote3.45pm till 5.00 pm   Afternoon practice available to all competitors.  No Passengers allowed.

Practice is available to all parties, (Cost $35) who hold a current AASA Level 2 Licence (or higher).
All participants of this session are at the discretion of the Event Director.
A $15 fee will apply to those competitors who participated in the Circuit Training Day.

From the supp regs - does this mean as I suspect it does, that anyone who is heading up for the sprint on Sunday can get a few practice laps in on the Saturday afternoon?

Grr, friday at work can't go quickly enough, I want to be driving up to Benalla now!

The 105 is ready to go thanks to Bruno, let's hope the driver is :).

My partner Sarah will be up with me, taking some pics as I am doing a review of my first time on track in the Alfa for the Cross & Serpent.  So make sure you wave as you pass me on the track!
